Government Relations

Expanding your ability to have a voice in Congress

The Government Relations Group is a full-service lobbying, public policy and legal representation practice that helps companies, associations, non-profits and other organizations interpret federal government actions, solve challenges and seize opportunities through interaction with government officials. Our work includes legislative consulting, lobbying, policy development, public relations strategy and representation in front of the Congress, federal agencies and regulatory bodies. With seasoned government relations professionals in every Brownstein office, we are able to provide comprehensive service at the federal, state and local levels throughout the country.

With deep backgrounds in both the public and private sectors, our policy advisors provide everything from monitoring government activities to direct lobbying, including legislative drafting and comprehensive political strategy development. We also advise clients regarding involvement in trade associations, coalitions and community organizations. We consult on the legislative process and how it may affect the operations of our clients. When a legislative strategy has been selected, we help clients shape their political messages and implement results-oriented tactics.

Our group has decades of combined experience representing clients in front of the various federal agencies, regulatory organizations, the executive branch and the U.S. Congress. We routinely work with the Federal Trade Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Food and Drug Administration, and the Departments of Justice, the Interior, Commerce, Energy, Homeland Security, Defense, Education and Health and Human Services, among others. We provide public policy, regulatory and legislative strategy counsel and, when necessary, congressional- and regulatory-related crisis management. Our team can assist with the consideration and adoption of new regulations and legislation, or we can lobby for changes to existing regulations and laws.

The Government Relations Group includes former legislative staffers, executive administration officials, federal regulatory professionals and attorneys from the United States Attorneys office. If you are looking for effective, dedicated representation in the full range of government relations issues, look no further than Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck.
