Justin Bogda focuses his practice on public utilities, renewable energy and environmental law. A uniquely experienced young attorney, he brings deep insights into regulatory frameworks and the interplay on local, state and federal statutes. His background includes representation in administrative and regulatory proceedings, strategizing media outreach on environmental policy issues and helping develop local public utility ordinances in Los Angeles.
Before joining Brownstein, Justin was a law clerk to Justice Kristina Pickering on the Nevada Supreme Court. Prior to that, he was a legal fellow at Communities for a Better Environment. While there, his work included submitting briefs in California Public Utilities Commission proceedings, developing litigation strategies for local oil and gas matters, and leading outreach with Los Angeles community organizations on local and statewide electrification and other utility-related ordinances and regulations.
While in law school, Justin was a summer clerk for the Sierra Club’s environmental law program in Oakland and, before that, for the California Office of the Attorney General’s environmental section. He was also the managing editor of the Harvard Environmental Law Review and a student attorney with the Emmett Environmental Law Clinic and the Immigrant and Refugee Clinic.
