A skilled litigator and employee benefits lawyer, William Nobriga brings a strong sense of courtroom dynamics and appellate knowledge to his practice. William excels in finding solutions to difficult legal problems that his clients face.
William has experience litigating commercial cases in state and federal courts, involving contract disputes, business ownership disputes, and general commercial litigation cases. In addition to his commercial litigation experience, William also has experience litigating cases involving employee benefit disputes, including cases related to the collection of unpaid contributions, third-party reimbursements, and withdrawal liability under ERISA and MPPAA. Along with his experience in the district court, William has also worked on appeals before Nevada’s appellate courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
William also helps guide numerous retirement, health, training and vacation savings plans and trusts in complying with ERISA, the Affordable Care Act, the Public Health Services Act, HIPAA, and other associated laws and regulations. William assists in all levels of employee benefit plan compliance, from drafting and updating summary plan descriptions and other plan documents to advising clients on updates to laws and regulations.
Prior to joining Brownstein, William clerked for Chief Justice Mark Gibbons (Ret.) of the Supreme Court of Nevada. During his time as a law clerk, William worked on both civil and criminal appeals and gained a unique insight into appellate procedure and practice.
