Background

Leveraging his experience in labor policy, Colton Stadtmiller supports the California State Government Relations team through detailed analysis, legislative insights and tracking. He uses his community outreach background and considerable experience navigating complex state bureaucratic processes to help craft strategic plans and achieve client goals. As a five-time gubernatorial appointee across two administrations, Colton is highly skilled in managing large-scale policy initiatives and complex projects while deepening stakeholder relationships.

Prior to Brownstein, Colton was special assistant to four successive California secretaries of labor at California’s Labor and Workforce Development Agency. There, he advised the secretary and undersecretary on coordinating daily operations and managing agency and departmental communications during the entire COVID-19 pandemic. Before that, he was an executive assistant and constituent affairs representative for the Office of Gov. Edmund G.  Brown Jr.
