Greg Sunstrum

Senior Policy Advisor

Background

Democratic politico, with over a decade on the Hill. Experienced staffer for key House Energy and Commerce Committee members. Artificial intelligence and autonomous vehicle advocate.

Greg Sunstrum builds consensus around contentious issues. He uses his ability to identify and capitalize on key inflection points in legislative and regulatory action to achieve policy goals involving telecommunications, technology and health care.

Before joining the firm, Greg represented a private artificial intelligence company at all levels of the federal government, laying groundwork with congressional and administration offices to pass a federal framework for the deployment of autonomous vehicles in the United States. This work established and bolstered his abilities to put client goals in front of key decision makers to produce tangible results.

Greg also served as the lead legislative staffer for key members on the House Energy & Commerce Committee, where he successfully negotiated several bipartisan bills on a diverse set of issues. He developed strong connections in the House serving Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) both as deputy chief of staff and legislative director, and later as chief of staff. He leverages his relationships and knowledge of Hill procedure to position clients as resources to D.C.’s powerbrokers. His time in the House also includes a stint in the office of former Rep. John Dingell (D-MI). In this role he developed an understanding of the law-making process and authored key provisions in several pieces of legislation.
