Background

Respected Republican operative with experience on the Hill and in the executive branch. Insightful, connected and diligent liaison between agencies and the legislature. Experienced negotiator on financial services and international investment issues.

Brady Howell’s deep understanding of interactions between Congress and federal agencies gives him valuable foresight into legislative and regulatory actions, particularly in international business. With over a decade of experience working with policymakers in foreign affairs and financial services, he leverages strong connections to help industry members meet their policy goals.

Before joining Brownstein, Brady served on the House Foreign Affairs Committee under former Rep. Dan Burton (R-IN) and Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA), advising on key issues and securing the passage of significant legislation, including economic sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea. He then served as a senior advisor in the Treasury Department's Office of Legislative Affairs where he acted as the lead legislative liaison for the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), helping with the implementation of the Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization Act (FIRRMA) and fielding congressional inquiries. He supported all aspects of the Treasury Department’s engagement with Congress, including guiding 23 presidential appointees through successful Senate confirmation.

In the private sector, Brady advised foreign business leaders on complex cross-border trade and national security issues, using his relationships and expertise in international policy to help navigate legislative and executive action while managing geopolitical risk.
