Emily Garnett is a versatile securities and antitrust lawyer, who uses her government experience, public policy background and litigation skills to advise clients on high-stakes regulatory enforcement and litigation matters. While at the SEC, Emily was a lead investigative attorney working on cases concerning potential violations of federal securities including insider trading, registration requirements, cryptocurrencies and fraud. She also advises clients under threat of investigation from the CFPB, FTC, Department of Justice and state attorneys general, among others.
On behalf of clients, Emily has filed comment letters on proposed rules and regulations, including most recently the SEC proposal on climate disclosures. She has also worked with public companies to perform mock audits and internal investigations, conduct company trainings, design compliance protocols and consult on procedures for public and private companies.
