Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Jessica Diaz, an associate in the firm’s Santa Barbara office, was recognized by the Pacific Coast Business Times as one of its 40 Under 40 honorees. Now in its 20th year, the special report showcases up-and-coming leaders in the region.
Assisting clients on a broad range of California water, environmental and land use matters, Diaz’s practice encompasses litigation, counsel on regulatory compliance, assistance with development entitlements, due diligence on real estate transactions and public law issues. She helps public agencies, water providers and private property owners navigate issues related to common law water rights, the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), water diversion (SB 88) regulations, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), California Coastal Act, State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) proceedings, mutual water companies, land use law, easements, takings challenges, well sharing agreements and disputes, government organization issues, and emerging legal questions faced by developers, water providers and water users.
In addition to her work advising clients on water and land use matters, Jessica is committed to pro bono work and was recognized for her dedicated service to the community when she received the 2018 Pro Bono Award from the Santa Barbara County Bar Association.
