Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Chris Guillen, an associate in its Energy & Natural Resources Department, has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the California Lawyers Association Environmental Law Section. During his term, Guillen will serve on Environmental Law Section’s statewide leadership group, which aims to further the knowledge of members in the fields of law affecting the environment and environmental regulatory law. Substantive areas and topics include air, litigation, energy, waste management, natural resources, water, land use, toxics and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Guillen’s multifaceted practice spans all areas of natural resources law, with a particular focus on laws and regulations impacting water rights and land use development projects like CEQA and the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). He represents private entity and public agency clients in environmental, land use and water right matters ranging from due diligence and entitlements to administrative hearings and litigation.
“I am honored to be appointed to the Executive Committee for the Section. The Section has a great tradition of excellent scholarship and continuing education in the environmental legal field,” said Guillen. “I hope to continue that tradition, and serve the Section’s members throughout the state by advancing quality and diverse information on emerging issues in environmental and natural resources law.”
