Sarah Mercer commented on the reopening of the Shuttered Venue Operator Grant portal and what those applying for a grant should know for the Denver Business Journal.
For those planning to apply, Sarah Mercer, a shareholder at Denver-based Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck who has been closely following the new SBA programs, strongly recommends registering for the portal before it opens on Monday. It's what the SBA recommends as well. She said that she believes when the portal crashed the first time, it was because the SBA was overwhelmed by the number of applications. Pre-registering gives the SBA an idea of how many applications it will receive and will help expedite the process for applicants.
“Register for an account of the SVOG page before tomorrow [sic] morning,” she said. “And be ready at your computer to give it a try and have everything ready so you can minimize your time spent on the portal.”
