Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Jena Acos, a shareholder in its Santa Barbara office, was recognized by the Pacific Coast Business Times as one of its 40 Under 40 for 2021. PCBT’s 40 Under 40 is an annual special section that honors 40 of the region’s younger movers and shakers, including people who have started or who are leading companies, people making waves in the nonprofit sector and people who participate in public service and higher education.
Acos’ practice thrives at the intersection of water and public agency law. She advises clients on SGMA and the development of groundwater management plans. Along with institutional government entities, Acos works with various water rights holders on both small-scale and larger projects. She also serves as a contract city attorney for the City of Carpinteria, where she works closely with city staff to draft, review and enforce contracts and ordinances as well as navigate critical jurisdictional issues.
She was honored at a virtual reception on Sept. 20.
