Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Melissa Kuipers Blake, co-chair of the firm’s Cannabis & Industrial Hemp industry group, was recognized by the Denver Business Journal as one of its 2022 Outstanding Women in Business honorees. Now in its 24th year, the Outstanding Women in Business event annually recognizes women in Denver’s business community who are driving change across a wide variety of industries.

Kuipers Blake leads negotiations for her clients with policymakers in Washington, D.C., and in state capitols across the country. She brings the dynamic combination of deep relationships at the federal, state and local level with an unmatched talent for deal-making. As co-chair of Brownstein’s Cannabis & Industrial Hemp industry group, Kuipers Blake has played a dominant role in cannabis issues since it was first legalized in Colorado in 2012. For over a decade, Kuipers Blake has also maintained a significant automotive practice in Colorado, D.C. and nationally. She is a go-to resource on all facets of the automotive industry from a legal, regulatory and political perspective.

“As a business leader, over the next year I plan to work on continued growth of my practice and to work on elevating Brownstein’s national brand by expanding our client base and being a one-stop-shop solution for all things legal, regulatory, politics and policy for our clients,” Kuipers Blake told the Denver Business Journal.
