Brownstein Welcomes Djenita Svinjar as Senior Counsel

November 12, 2024

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Djenita Svinjar joins the firm as senior counsel in the Litigation Department with a focus on construction law. She will be based in the Denver office.

“Djenita brings a strong background in real estate, insurance, corporate and construction law,” said Adam Bult, co-chair of Brownstein’s Litigation Department. “She is well versed in construction litigation from negotiating multimillion dollar construction contracts to navigating external general counsel matters. We are excited to add her talent and expertise to the firm.”

Svinjar began her legal career as in-house counsel and assistant vice president for a Fortune 500 title insurance provider, which led her to the construction industry. She began her career in construction as corporate counsel for one of the nation’s largest general contractors, overseeing a multitude of responsibilities to include contract reviews and negotiations, resolution of mechanic’s lien and bond claims, and federal audit compliance. Thereafter, she served as outside counsel to several of the nation’s largest commercial general contractors, assisting with drafting, review and negotiation of commercial construction contracts.

Svinjar’s unique legal experiences allow her to draft and negotiate clear, concise and legally sound agreements that serve as the foundation for successful commercial projects. Outside of her practice, she is heavily involved in the community, serving on the U.S. Board of Advisors for Women for Women International, St. Bonaventure University’s Alumni Council, and is the current vice president for the Denver chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction.

She received her law degree from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University in New York.
