Andi Stader, an associate in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Denver office, has been appointed to the board of directors of Colorado Outward Bound School (COBS), a nonprofit organization that is part of the Outward Bound national network of schools. Outward Bound is a leader in outdoor experiential education, serving over one million students from all walks of life and immersing participants in challenging expedition courses that inspire discovery.
Stader first became involved with COBS when she served as an assistant instructor in 2015. Since then, she’s remained active with the organization, most recently serving on its board of advocates. In her new role, Stader will attend meetings and events, help promote COBS in the community, fundraise and connect COBS with individuals and other organizations whose interests align with COBS. She will also serve as a member of its Governance Committee.
Prior to joining Brownstein, Stader spent two years training to become a rock climbing instructor and mountaineering guide. She coached children’s climbing teams, led mountaineering courses and worked for several outdoor companies in the Pacific Northwest and Colorado, including as an assistant instructor at COBS.
“COBS’s mission of getting students outside of their comfort zones through rigorous outdoor experiences and in the process improving their confidence, resilience and self-esteem is truly near and dear to my heart” she said. “I am very excited to be able to support the organization in meaningful ways. I have three little girls of my own and I hope that they too will be able to experience a COBS course when they get older and find out that there is more within them then they know.”
